Well, after spending the last year of my life "repacifying" my child in the middle of the night, enough is enough! The pacifier MUST GO. It was nothing other than pure and utter frustration that motivated me to "just do it already!" We are only on day two but I am so glad I have one and a half days under my belt. There is no turning back now!
Day one was rough. It doesn't help that the poor guy has a cough/cold. I almost used this as an excuse not to do it, but it seems like there is ALWAYS an excuse, so I wouldn't let it sway me from what I needed to accomplish. We both need a full night's sleep. I couldn't be sidetracked my a runny nose. He was pretty grumpy all day yesterday, but we got through it. He slept decent last night (decent for him) and he is a much happier boy today. I have heard that he will forget about the binky sooner than I think, and I hope that is true.
I do see us being a binky-free family in the future and this has been a long time coming. This may be such a boring post to read but it consumes me, therefore for today, consumes my blog. :)
Jenn, this is not boring. I can honestly say Logan was never a 'pacifier' baby. But, I probably should have weened him off the bottle sooner! This is a great idea to blog about your experiences. Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteMy older two weren't either, I had to force Jack to take one when he started sucking his finger like the older two did. They both have overbites from it so we wanted to nip it in the bud! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming over and reading!!!! Do you have a blog?
See you tomorrow right?
Yes, tomorrow at the olive garden right? Oh and no I don't have a blog but thinking about it after seeing yours... see you at 1130.
ReplyDeleteYou know how long G was addicted to her pacifier. TOO LONG! When the letter of the week at preschool was N and she talked about her Nuk? It was time for it to go!
ReplyDeleteGood for you doing it earlier than me :)
